I wish I was smarter and could understand more about what is going on in the economy. I am sure it is all rigged for the fat cats. It seems our Congress sells out to the lobbyists, and our President has simply thought he was John Wayne in doing what he pleased. Greenspan did say that it was necessary out Saddam to protect our oil interests. That is what I thought it was about all along, and Bush's cronies, Cheney, et al. By some miracle, Halliburton, Cheney's old company, got the contract to manage the oil there on the basis that it was there already an being in place it was foolish to put out bids. Ho Ho.
I have learned in my brief years on this planet, that the more fantastic a fraud or outrageous act is, the more invisible it becomes, and the less likely that anyone will do anything about it. I have seen in in my law business when someone just up and did something totally crazy, and others involved either watched slack jawed as the guy went about his business violating all kinds of rules and laws, and walked away with a fortune, or they were somehow peripherally involved themselves and didn't want the stink to get on them by interfering. They got screwed.
So we get screwed, for all this is like magicians with mirrors and smoke, and we are slack jawed watching the show, not really knowing what to do. Like they are trying to sneak through the back door in the dark with little amnesties that will add up to the same big one that got clobbered a week or so ago. What do you do with your leadership that has gone totally maverick? You vote the rascals out and more rascals in? I hope it isn't too late. I note that one of the courts held big parts of the Patriot act unconstitutional. There is some sanity up there. Thank goodness for that.
