A fabulous view of the universe thanks to NASA, Hubbell. Comment on Apnea.

This picture http://duggmirror.com/space/Gorgeous_view_of_the_outer_universe_thousands_of_galaxies_shown/96664main_galaxy_string_4.jpg of a tiny slice of the universe reminded me that now is the time that I must live, and that I should smile and chill. I think Lily Tomlin said something like “if you win the rat’s race you are still a rat.” I don’t want to be a rat. I have been a rat, chasing through that maze after something that was never there, looking way ahead and never looking at what was there right before me, taking time to catch my breath and look around at the quietness around me.
Each of those galaxies contains 400 billion or more stars. About twenty years ago, long before Hubbell telescope, I started a Sci Fi story and found in a National Geographic a map of the universe to help me think with the plot. That was mind blowing enough, for it showed our planet around this little dull sun, located way out on the fringe of our “Milky Way” galaxy. Then it showed where our galaxy fit in with a cluster of other galaxies consisting of perhaps a million galaxies, which then were part of a super cluster of galaxies, and that was just in looking in one direction. Now I see this picture and it is only a small cluster of galaxies shown here, as part of another super cluster which in itself is part of another super cluster, and on and on. This view is of a section of the heavens consists of perhaps the size of a pencil eraser held at the length of your outstretched arm. So are we alone? Silly question. As a prisoner on this prison planet I object to the bad spiritual food, the abuse of the torture of being in a meat body as my communication device and having to rely on air and lower life forms to keep the meat from spoiling. Help, bring me a hacksaw to cut the bars and escape home to one of those galaxies way out there and be with those of my own kind.
So where do your troubles fit into the scheme of all of this? Makes you want to come to a screeching stop and take a breath, doesn’t it? Maybe take that vacation, or go sit in the swing for a while and enjoy the morning…
Here’s a report on my sleep problem. I mentioned in a previous rant that I hadn’t had a full night’s sleep for over 40 years. In 1967 I woke in the middle of the night while living in the New Orleans French Quarter and couldn’t go back to sleep. After that, I have wakened at that time every night and haven’t had a full nights sleep since. I learned, after taking a test, that I had a condition called “sleep apnea” which involves the muscles in the throat relaxing so much when you go to sleep that they close off the air supply to the lungs, thus brain and heart. I would come fully awake many times each night and be totally exhausted all day, feeling hung over and dull every day of my life. I learned to take several naps during the day to keep up, but sometimes I couldn’t. I even went to sleep during trials at times.
I learned that the reason for the exhaustion was that you never get down to sleep at all, as you would semi-awake 50-80 times and hour, always just coming up enough to allow breath, then roller coaster up and down, never getting refreshing REM sleep needed. That is why many people die of heart failure during their sleep, I know.
Anyway, I got this machine that pushes air down into your lungs. There is a face mask and tube attached to this machine that pushes air into your nose, and keeps the airway open. I have been sleeping for the first time now in all these years. I still wake up because I am adjusting to this mask, but it is a blessing as the sleep I am getting is real sleep. I am alert, awake, feeling great now. If I had known this years ago I would have been clearer, calmer, and been able to make better decisions as being half asleep all the time you simply aren’t as smart or as able to make proper judgments. Running on the ragged edge of empty does something else adverse as well, for it not only taxes the system as a whole but also keeps parts of organism/entity unnecessarily on red alert most of the time. So if you are tired all day, check this out. It could be your problem.
